- Test functionality of unit prior to cleaning, includes a temperature check
- Remove air filters and fins, clean and disinfect
- Remove surrounding casing of indoor unit, clean and disinfect
- Pressure wash evaporator coils, barrel fan and drain to remove all dust and contaminants which blocks the air flow. Also ensuring no foreign objects are blocking drain holes
- Reassemble air conditioning unit
- Test unit and record operating temperature (can sometimes be 5° lower than original temperature)
To keep your air conditioner running smoothly, it should be cleaned and serviced annually. It is advisable to remove and clean the air filters every 2-3 weeks, or more often if using constantly in the summer months. This action will guarantee your family are only breathing clean air into their lungs.
